  • "Total THC" is an industry standard term for calculating the estimated potential delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol content of a "Cannabis" product after decarboxylation. It is calculated using the formula "Total THC = Δ9 THC + (THCA x 0.877)". This calculation is used throughout the "Cannabis" industry as a whole, as well as within the subcategory "Hemp" and "Marijuana" industries.
  • "Cannabis" refers to anything derived from the Cannabis sativa plant. "Hemp" and "Marijuana are both subcategories of "Cannabis".
  • "Hemp" refers to anything derived from a Cannabis sativa plant that contained that contained less than 0.3% delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol by dry weight. Even if below the 0.3% limit, "Hemp" cannot be derived from "Marijuana".
  • "Marijuana" refers to anything that contains more than 0.3% delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol by dry weight OR was derived from a Cannabis sativa plant that contained more than 0.3% delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol by dry weight. Even if it contains less than the 0.3% limit, products derived from "Marijuana" cannot be defined as "Hemp".
